OUR STORY

At Auspicious, we're inspired by music. We make clothes for anyone and everyone who is inspired like we are. We're not genre-specific either, as we love everything from Sepultura to King Tubby to Prodigy.

Music motivates us to create clothing, throw events, and bring people together. If music inspires you to do anything (and we mean anything!) then Auspicious Garments is the community for you!

Here's the full Auspicious Garments story:

I grew up with a passion for music, and picked up the guitar at a very young age.  I also had a deep love for clothing - I remember growing up (and still to this day) being my mom's shopping companion.

As I grew up, I found myself a part of multiple groups (basketball team, sneakerheads, metal scene, chess clubs, etc.) but I never really identified with any of them specifically. I was never the basketball player or the sneakerhead, I was always just me.

Honestly, it didn't make me feel great.

I thought for the longest time that I was just a jack of all trades, someone who was doomed to be a "master of none." I just liked too many things!

That all changed in 2022.

I visited a Miami Art Basel pop up to celebrate the life of Virgil Abloh. It was there where I was inspired to start my own brand.

After that pop up I researched some lectures that Virgil gave, and one of them talked about how having different passions is the key to succeeding in the present day, since those different interests can help you connect the dots and help bring forth new ideas (go to about 14 minutes into Virgil's "NO DISCIPLINE" lecture to see what I'm talking about.)

The way you play chess can influence how you work out, the way you work out can influence how you make and post content, the way you post content can influence the new sales job you get, and the niche interest in 1800's art can help you sell to a history buff.

It was also at this time when I learned that the full saying is this:

"A Jack of All Trades is a master of none - but oftentimes BETTER than a master of one!"

For the first time, I felt like the renaissance man I was was actually something that could help people!

Enter Auspicious Garments.

A brand with the polymath in mind - those who enjoy multiple things in life, and who don't want to be put in a box.

POLYMATH - "a person of wide-ranging knowledge or learning."

The real estate agent learning to code a video game? Auspicious.
The high school football coach picking up chess? Auspicious.
The doctor who's in a local band playing their first gig? Auspicious.

We encourage you to be the polymath you always were.  Explore every outlet that peaks your interest - you never know what you may find out about yourself.

Our three swords logo represents the polymath's life perfectly, with each sword representing the multiple interests that all of us have - no matter if they align with a professional career or are just for fun!

We want to remind you that it's not only OK to be a polymath - but that it should be celebrated.

We look forward to seeing you in our clothing.
